Group for Helping Professionals

WHAT: 2-hour monthly consultation group for helping professionals lead by Morgan Johnson, MA, LPC. I will feel useful to you if you work primarily with relationships/couples (or want to!) or do relational work with individuals. My brain and experience are particularly handy if you want to learn more about: Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy; Gottman Method; Internal Family Systems; Imago Therapy; Right Use of Power; integrating Interpersonal Neurobiology in a clinical setting; Trust Recovery Counseling (theories/stages/interventions); supporting partners struggling with sex/intimacy; high conflict couples; affirming and working with open/poly/cnm clients.

WHY: It’s stupid expensive to become a helping professional. You and the clients working with you deserve access to cutting-edge bonding science and clinical wisdom that doesn’t break the bank. I also appreciate that schedules are wild during internship and wish there had been something I could have bopped in to on some months but not others as needed—so I’m creating it!

WHO: Counselors (LPC-Interns, LPCs), therapists (PhD grad students, LMFT-Associates, LMFTs), social workers, and yoga therapists. I appreciate your understanding, at this time I’m not making room for yogis unless you’re doing relationally-focused yoga therapy. *Priority will be given to Interns/Associates and Practicum students because you are badasses and radically underserved.

WHEN: 5-7pm on the last Monday of each month. Exceptions will be holidays, in which case we’ll move to the second-to-last-Monday. Schedule: 11/25; 12/16; 1/27; 2/24; 3/30; 4/27; 5/18…

HOW MUCH: Donation-based! $10 suggested per session. If it’s been a slow month and you can’t afford to pay, show up anyway. If it’s been a good month, give a little more! You can pay with cash, Venmo, or Square.
